If your forearm aches the day after you play, you're not unusual. Padel involves a lot of repeated impact through a stiff frame, and the sport's growth has produced a wave of players discovering elbow discomfort in their first year.
Some of that is technique. Some of it is volume. But a meaningful share of it is equipment, and equipment is the part you can change today.
A note before we start: we sell rackets, we're not medical professionals. Persistent pain, numbness, or anything that doesn't improve with rest is a conversation for a doctor or physical therapist, not a blog post.
Why some rackets hurt more than others
Three things drive how much impact reaches your arm.
Stiffness. A stiff frame transmits vibration directly into your hand and forearm. A frame with more flex absorbs some of it.
Sweet spot size and position. Diamond-shaped rackets put the sweet spot high on the face and make it small. Every off-center hit sends a jolt up your arm. Round rackets put a larger sweet spot in the middle of the face, where you're more likely to actually hit the ball.
Balance. Weight concentrated high in the head generates more force at impact - good for smashing, harder on your joints.
The pattern is consistent: the rackets that generate the most power are the ones that punish your arm the most. That's the trade-off nobody mentions when you're shopping.
What a comfort racket does differently
Comfort-oriented models are usually round or teardrop, softer in the layup, with the balance lower and the sweet spot larger and more central. Many brands now make an explicit comfort version of a popular model - same name, softer delivery.
You give up some peak power. You gain consistency, a larger margin for error, and an arm that still works on Sunday.
For most recreational players this is not a downgrade. A racket you can swing freely for 90 minutes produces better results than a powerful one you're guarding against by the second set.
Models worth looking at

- NOX Equation Soft Advanced 2026 - round, control, and the most affordable option on this list
- NOX VK10 Ventus Control 12K 2026 and ML10 Ventus Control 3K 2026 - round control frames
We keep all of these grouped together in our comfort and joint-friendly collection so you don't have to hunt for them.
If you tell us your level and what's bothering you, we'll narrow this to two options rather than ten.
Things that help beyond the racket
Overgrip thickness. A handle that's too thin makes you grip harder, and gripping harder transmits more force. Building up the handle with one or two overgrips is the cheapest fix in the sport.
Ball pressure. Old, dead balls require more effort for the same result. Fresh balls are easier on your arm than flat ones.
Warm up. Five minutes of gentle rallying before you start playing competitively does more than any equipment change.
Volume. If you went from one session a week to four in a month, the problem may be the jump rather than the racket.
Ask us before you buy
If you're dealing with arm discomfort, message us before ordering. Tell us your level, how often you play, and what hurts. We'll recommend something appropriate - and if the honest answer is rest for two weeks and see a physio, we'll say that too.
We ship from Texas with free shipping on US orders over $199 and 30-day returns.
