Most adult padel rackets weigh between 355 and 375 g. That doesn't sound like much, but over a 90-minute match the difference between 340 g and 375 g is real. A lighter racket is quicker at the net, easier to control and kinder to your shoulder and elbow. This guide explains when a light racket makes sense, and lists the light padel rackets we have in stock for every level.
The 30-second answer
- Lightest adult racket we stock: Babolat Dyna Energy 2026 (330 g).
- Light first racket on a budget: Babolat Alkes 2026 or Babolat Energy USA 2026 (335 g).
- Light and versatile, room to grow: Bullpadel Ionic Light 2026 (350 to 360 g).
- Light teardrop: Tecnifibre Curva Team (345 g).
- Light and advanced: Bullpadel Elite Woman 2026, Bullpadel Flow Legend 2026 or Bullpadel Pearl Cloud 2025.
Who should play a lighter padel racket?
- Players with arm or shoulder pain. Less weight means less load on every swing. Also read our guide to comfort padel rackets.
- Players who live at the net. A light racket gets ready faster for volleys and reflex blocks.
- Beginners. It's easier to learn technique when the racket isn't tiring you out.
- Anyone who simply prefers a lighter frame. Weight is about the player, not gender. Plenty of men play light rackets and plenty of women play heavy ones.
The trade-off: a lighter racket gives a little less power and stability against hard balls. Many players add weight later with a weighted frame protector or weighted tape once their technique is solid.
